GERMAN APPLE CAKE | |
2 lg. eggs 1 c. salad oil 2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla 2 c. flour 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. baking soda 4 c. apples (sliced thin) 1/2 c. chopped nuts Beat eggs and oil until foamy. Add and mix sugar, vanilla, flour, cinnamon and soda (batter will be thick). Add apples and nuts. Pour into a 9 x 13 inch greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes. Cool. Ice with apple cake icing. APPLE CAKE ICING: 2 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 3 tbsp. melted butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar Combine all ingredients and beat until smooth and creamy. Powdered sugar may be added to obtain desired consistency. |
