MICROWAVE CRACKER JACKS | |
5 qts. popped corn, lightly salted 1 stick butter 1 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. dark Karo syrup 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 c. nuts (opt.) Spray the inside of a large brown bag with Pam. Pour popped corn into the bag. In a 1 quart bowl place butter, brown sugar and Karo. Cook on high (approximately 5 minutes) until the sugar dissolves. It will boil. Stir. Add baking soda and stir until it's thick and foamy. Pour syrup over the popped corn in the bag. Shake well. Add nuts. Place bag in microwave on high 1 1/2 minutes. Remove, shake, cook again on high for 1 1/2 minutes. Remove, shake. Cook 30 seconds on high, shake. Pour onto waxed paper to cool. Keep in a closed container. |
