HOMEMADE CHICKEN SOUP 
1 chicken
2 bay leaves
1 onion
4-5 carrots
2 celery stalks
1/2 green pepper, if desired
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. parsley
Fine thin noodles, add until desired consistency, start with 1 1/2 c.

Put chicken in large pot. Cover with water almost to top of pot. Put bay leaves in it. Simmer 2 or 3 hours. Peel carrots and cut up to your desired shape. Cut up onion in pieces. Add onion and carrot the same time as you put the chicken in the pot.

After 3 hours, remove chicken and cool. Then remove meat and cut up in small pieces. Remove with a spoon any scum from top of soup. Put chicken meat back in pot. Add celery and green pepper, salt to taste. Add pepper and parsley and noodles. Cook 3/4 to 1 hour more.
