3 c. self-rising flour 2 tbsp. sugar 12 oz. (1 can) beer 7 tbsp. butter, melted HOW TO MAKE SELF-RISING FLOUR: Sift together 6 cups all-purpose flour, 3 tablespoons baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt. Store as you would any flour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, sugar and beer in bowl thoroughly. Pour into well-buttered 9x5 inch loaf pan. Spoon 3 1/2 tablespoons melted butter over loaf. Bake 20 minutes. Brush with 3 1/2 tablespoons more melted butter. Bake an additional 25 minutes. Yield: 1 loaf. |
