BAKE - RITE CUTOUT COOKIES | |
1 c. Bake-Rite shortening 1 c. sugar 1 egg, slightly beaten 1 tsp. vanilla 2 tbsp. milk 1 tsp. lemon flavoring 2 c. sifted flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg, vanilla, milk and lemon flavoring. Mix until well blended. Stir together flour, soda, salt and mix well. Chill thoroughly. Remove half of dough, roll to 3/16 inch thickness on lightly floured board. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 375 degrees 9 to 10 minutes or to a delicate brown. Repeat with remaining chilled dough. Chill trimmings before unrolling and cutting. Makes about 3 dozen cookies. |
