CHOCOLATE PEPPERMINT SQUARES 
2 squares chocolate
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. peppermint extract
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. nuts (optional)

FROSTING:

2 tbsp. butter
1 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tbsp. cream or milk
3/4 tsp. peppermint extract

In a saucepan, melt chocolate and butter, cool. Add eggs, sugar, peppermint extract, flour and nuts. Pour in a 9 x 9-inch greased pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. While warm, frost and let set. Then melt 1 square chocolate and 1 tablespoon butter and spread evenly over frosting. Cut into squares when chocolate is set.
