NEXT RECIPE:  LEMON-COCONUT KISSES

KISSES 
3 egg whites
1/3 tsp. cream of tartar
pinch of salt
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 cup chopped nuts
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips (or 1 cup chopped dates)

Preheat oven to 300°F.

Beat egg whites until foamy. Add cream of tartar and salt and continue beating until very stiff. Add sugar and beat until batter is stiff enough to stand in high peaks.

Note: More sugar may be added if necessary.

Stir in nuts and chocolate chips or dates.

Drop from a teaspoon onto a well greased and floured cookie sheet.

Bake at 300°F for 10 to 20 minutes or until delicately brown. Remove immediately from cookie sheet.

Makes 40 servings.
