1/2 c. shortening, butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 oz. melted chocolate
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
3/4 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. chopped pecans

Mix shortening, sugar, add eggs, salt, vanilla, melted chocolate; mix well. Add flour and pecans. Drop by teaspoon on well greased cookie sheet. Flatten with bottom of drinking glass. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
