GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE | |
1 med. onion, thinly sliced 1/2 c. butter, divided 2 (10 oz.) pkgs. frozen green beans, thawed & drained 1 c. sour cream (can substitute non-fat yogurt) 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper 1 c. cheddar cheese, shredded (can use Lite-Line cheese) 1 c. soft bread crumbs or cracker crumbs Saute onion in 1/4 cup butter. Add beans, sour cream (or yogurt), flour and seasonings; mix lightly. Pour in greased 1 1/2 quart casserole. Sprinkle with cheese, top with crumbs which have been mixed with 1/4 cup melted butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Serves 4 to 6 people. |
