FISHERMANS FOIL PACK (HOMESTYLE) | |
1/4 to 1/2 lb. ground beef pattie (chuck is best, not too fat, or too lean) Onions, sliced or diced as you prefer Carrots, 1/2 to 2 inch sticks (split if large carrots Potatoes, peeled and sliced in halves or quarters Other vegetable you like, squash, peppers, cabbage, okra Place sheet of heavy guage foil 18 x 24 inch on broiler pan or cookie sheet. Place beef pattie in center (thick or thin, your choice). Stack onions, potatoes, carrots, etc. on top of meat, salt and pepper to taste. Close up foil, long sides first, folding together at top to seal. Fold over ends, making a sealed package. Place in oven at 425 degrees for about 45 minutes or until veggies are done. Meat should now be cooked to medium well stage. If veggies are done and meat is not to your desired stage, remove veggies into covered dish and place meat under broiler for 2 or 3 minutes or until browned to your taste. (Be sure to fold down edges of foil before putting under broiler.) Cook one or a dozen, small ones, large ones, with ingredients to each persons taste. They are good heated over next meal or put in freezer. A HEALTHY FEAST... a meat, 3 or 4 vegetables, no dishes, no mess. ( Any meat will do, but it must have enough juices, fat, in it to steam the vegetables, other wise you will have a piece of jerky and dehydrated vegetables.) |
