SPLIT PEA SOUP 
1 c. split peas
1/2 onion, chopped
1 sm. carrot, sliced
1 qt. water
1/4-1/2 tsp. sea salt

Wash peas. Place peas, onion and carrot in a pot. Add the water. Bring to a boil, then turn heat to low and cover pot. Cook for 45 minutes. Add sea salt and continue to cook until peas are soft. Soup may be cooled and then pureed in a blender if you prefer a creamy texture.
