BUTTERSCOTCH-ALMOND SQUARES 
1/2 c. melted shortening
1 3/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
3/r c. sliced almonds
1/4 c. coconut
Dust top with confectioners' sugar

Mix shortening and sugar. Add eggs and flavoring. Blend in flour. Add nuts and coconut. Bake in 12 x 8 x 2 inch pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar, cool, and cut into squares.
