HOMEMADE ROLLS 
2 eggs, beaten
2 pkgs. yeast
1 c. lukewarm water
1 c. boiling water
6 c. plain White Lily flour
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt

Dissolve yeast in 1 cup lukewarm water; set aside. Mix salt with beaten eggs; set aside. Cream shortening, butter and sugar. Pour 1 cup boiling water over sugar mixture, dissolve and cool. Add yeast and eggs; mix well. Sift in 3 cups of flour and mix well. Add remaining flour; mix well. Cover with cloth and let rise 1 1/2 hours. Turn out on floured board, knead (add more flour if needed). Roll out 1/2" thick. Cut with biscuit cutter and place on cookie sheet sprayed with Pam. Let rise about an hour. Bake at 400 degrees until brown, 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
