RED BEANS AND BROWN RICE 
1 c. brown rice
1 can red kidney beans
4 slices bacon, cut in 1" pieces
1/2 sm. onion, chopped
1 tbsp. flour
1 tbsp. chopped parsley
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. garlic
1/8 tsp. pepper
Dash of Tabasco

Cook rice according to directions. Fry bacon, add onions and saute until tender. Blend flour into bacon drippings. Add juice from beans and enough water to make 1 cup liquid. Cook until slightly thickened, add beans and seasonings. Serve over rice.
