LOIS' APPLESAUCE NUT BREAD 
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. cooking oil
3 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. applesauce
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. nuts

TOPPING:

1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. nuts
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

In a large bowl, combine sugar, applesauce, oil, eggs and milk. Sift together flour, soda, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. Add to applesauce mixture and beat until well combined. Add nuts. Pour into loaf pan. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle on top. Bake for an hour at 350 degrees. Cover with foil loosely after first 30 minutes of baking. Remove from pan and cool on rack.
