SESAME SEED WAFERS | |
3/4 c. butter 1 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 lg. eggs 2 c. flour 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla 3/4 c. toasted sesame seeds Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Toast sesame seeds by spreading the seeds on a cookie sheet and roasting them in 350 degree oven for about 4 minutes. They should be watched as sesame seeds burn easily. Cream butter, add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating constantly. Soft together flour and baking powder and combine with butter sugar mixture. Mix until thoroughly blended. Stir in vanilla and sesame seeds. Drop cookie dough by teaspoon about 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake for about 10 minutes or until edges are brown. To prepare ahead: Bake wafers a few days before using and store in airtight container. These are great served with cheese spreads or plain as a sweet. |
