STUFFED CABBAGE WITH TURKEY | |
2 heads cabbage 2 lb. ground turkey 2 onions, chopped 2/3 c. raw rice 2/3 c. milk 2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. pepper 4 (4 oz.) cans tomato sauce 1/2 c. honey 1/2 c. lemon juice 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce Mix tomato sauce, honey, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce. Boil 1 minute and set aside. Remove cabbage leaves from head and boil 10 minutes. Drain and set aside to cool. Mix rice, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Mix well then add thawed raw turkey, eggs, milk and onions. After this is all combined take small handfuls and place on the cabbage leaves. Roll and tuck. Place in rows in a baking dish. Pour sauce mixture over rolls. Cover and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. This freezes very well. If there is any left over freeze for another meal. To reheat thaw and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. |
