CHERRY TORTE 
2 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 qt. cherries (do not use cherry pie filling)
1 tbsp. cornstarch
Sugar to taste

Mix dry ingredients like pie crust. Reserve 1 cup for topping. Pat rest into 9 x 13 inch pan. Cook 1 quart cherries and 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Add sugar to taste. Pour into pan. Top with crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
