2 lb. pkg. self-rising flour (about 7-8 c.) 1 1/2 c. shortening Cut the shortening into the flour. Now you have a mixture of flour, salt, baking powder and shortening. You can make anything that calls for these ingredients. This does not need to be refrigerated. Just keep in canister. It has a more homemade taste than bought biscuit mix. Bread made with this mix is very economical. |
