KELLEY'S ITALIAN SAUSAGE BROILS 
1/2 lb. bulk Italian sausage
1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce with mushrooms
1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
1 1/2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
4 split English muffins, toasted and buttered

Owens OK, 1 hot and 1 plain.

Brown sausage in skillet; drain fat. Add basil, oregano, and tomato sauce. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon shredded cheese on each half of toasted, buttered English muffin.

Divide sausage mixture among the muffin halves. Top with remaining cheese. Broil about 3-inches from source of heat until cheese melts. Serve immediately.

Hint: Make the meat sauce ahead and keep in refrigerator for quick to make broiled sandwiches. (I make up 2 pounds of sausage at a time.) The sandwiches may be assembled ahead; cover and refrigerate, then broil just before serving. If chilled, broil 6 to 8 inches from source of heat for 4 to 6 minutes or until sandwiches are heated through.

Serve with: Crisp vegetable sticks, potato chips, or a tossed green salad with Italian dressing.
