STRAWBERRY-OREO ICE CREAM PIE | |
1 (16 oz.) pkg. Oreos 1/4 c. butter, melted 1/2 gallon strawberry ice cream Softly whipped cream for garnish 5 cookies, broken in half for garnish 1 strawberry for garnish Lightly grease 9-inch pie plate. Crush 26 cookies into crumbs. Add butter and stir with a fork until blended. Press into pie plate and freeze 15 to 20 minutes. Meanwhile, remove ice cream from freezer and let stand at room temperature about 10 minutes. TO ASSEMBLE: Spread 1 quart ice cream over bottom of crust. Place 14 cookies (broken into pieces) on top; spread with the remaining quart of ice cream, mounding it slightly in center. Freeze at least 3 hours until firm. Before serving, garnish top with a ring of whipped cream, the cookie halves and strawberry. Let pie stand 10-15 minutes before serving. |
