OLD FASHIONED BREAD PUDDING 
2 c. milk
4 c. coarse bread crumbs
1/4 c. melted butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. seeded raisins
1 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg

Heat milk to scalding and pour over bread crumbs. Cool and add remaining ingredients.

Pour into 1 1/2 quart casserole. Cover and bake until a silver knife comes out clean 40 to 45 minutes. Serve warm with hard sauce, vanilla sauce or cream.
