OLD FASHIONED BREAD PUDDING 
4 c. milk, scalded
4 c. coarse dry bread crumbs
1/4 c. butter, melted
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 c. seedless raisins
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1/2 tsp. butter flavoring

In a large mixing bowl pour milk over bread crumbs. In a small mixing bowl combine all ingredients and add to bread and milk mixture. Mix thoroughly and pour into a greased 8 x 12 inch pan. Bake 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center of pudding comes out clean. Cut into squares and serve hot with vanilla sauce spooned on top. I use cinnamon raisin bread for an even richer flavor.

VANILLA SAUCE:

1 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch dissolved in a sm. amount of the milk
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
