12 c. flour 6 egg yolks 2 tsp. salt 1 cake yeast 1/2 lb. butter 1/2 pt. sour cream 1 c. sugar 3/4 c. milk 1 tbsp. sugar Dissolve yeast in 3/4 cup lukewarm milk with 1 tablespoon sugar. Set aside. Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks and a little flour. Sift flour and salt. Add rest of ingredients, including yeast and enough lukewarm milk to make a soft dough. Work until it does not stick to hands or pan. Cover. Let rise in warm place until doubled in bulk; makes 2 large or 3 small paszkas. Let rise in pan until double in bulk. Spread tops with beaten egg yolk and a little milk. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes. While still hot, brush with butter. |
