FROSTED APPLE CAKE 
4 oz. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 lg. eggs
1 c. self rising flour
Vanilla extract

TOPPING:

1 level tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. cinnamon
1 lg. apple
2 oz. flaked almonds

Grease and line 8 inch round cake tins. Cream together butter, sugar and eggs. Lightly beat in the flour and a few drops of vanilla. Turn the mixture into prepared cake tins. Toss together sugar, cinnamon and nuts cover the surface of cake with thinly sliced apple and sprinkle nut mixture. Bake in center of oven on 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Cool with apple side uppermost.
