MOTHER'S GINGER ICE BOX COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
2 c. white sugar
3 eggs, beaten
2/3 c. molasses
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and sugar together. Add beaten eggs and molasses. Sift together dry ingredients and add. Shape into rolls and wrap each in waxed paper. Chill in refrigerator several hours or overnight. Slice and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes.
