“BELLE'S CHICKEN PIE” IS IN:

BELLE'S CHICKEN PIE 
Stew one large or two small chickens; put stewed chicken into a baking dish.

Blend smoothly into a white sauce.

WHITE SAUCE:

3 tbsp. melted butter
3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 cup cream
1 clove garlic, minced
3 cups of warm chicken broth

When thoroughly heated pour over chicken and keep warm until crust is made.

CRUST:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 cup milk

Stir into a batter and pour over chicken.

Bake at 375°F until golden brown, about 45 minutes.

If it's got a crust and is baked, it is "chicken pie".
"Pot pie" is another thing entirely. It's frustrating that few bother to make the distinction anymore...
