BELLE'S CHICKEN PIE | |
Stew one large or two small chickens; put stewed chicken into a baking dish. Blend smoothly into a white sauce. WHITE SAUCE: 3 tbsp. melted butter 3 tbsp. all-purpose flour 1 cup cream 1 clove garlic, minced 3 cups of warm chicken broth When thoroughly heated pour over chicken and keep warm until crust is made. CRUST: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking powder 2 tbsp. melted butter 1 egg, slightly beaten 1 cup milk Stir into a batter and pour over chicken.
