Donna's Chow Mein Sauce

I have not tried this recipe, but do plan to... I'm thinking to use 2 generous tsp. soup base (Better Than Bouillon) instead of the 2 tbsp. "chicken seasonings". And then proceed slowly, tasting and adding maybe Ginger, garlic, Hoisin maybe.. It looks worth a kitchen experiment. :)

By "chicken seasoning" do you mean chicken bouillon?

 Tina Walls (Oklahoma) replies:
I would use a "poultry seasoning" like McCormick's.

I'm not a very experimental cook, but I added chicken broth instead of water and a bit more corn starch. It turned out very good.

By far the easiest and best recipe I have tried. It is now added to my cook book. Has drawn many great comments when I have served it. With chicken and Chinese veggies.

My husband made this and it was truly bad. He used Montreal chicken seasoning, we guess that's what the author meant. It was just salty, no flavor. It needs some garlic and ginger, maybe a little sugar. This recipe is bland, flat, unimaginative.
