CARAMEL LAYER CHOCOLATE SQUARES 
1 pkg. German sweet chocolate cake mix
1 c. chopped nuts
14 oz. Kraft caramels
3/4 c. melted butter
1 c. chocolate chips
5 oz. can evaporated milk

Combine cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, nuts. Mix by hand. Put 2/3 of mixture in greased 9x13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes.

In a double boiler, put rest of evaporated milk with the caramels to melt. Spread over baked mixture and sprinkle chips on this. Top with remaining dough mixture. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes.
