MEATBALL STEW 
1 1/2 lb. hamburger
1 1/2 tsp. salt
Pinch of pepper
1 egg
1 tbsp. minced onion
1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
1 tbsp. salad oil
1 can tomatoes
1 branch celery, sliced
1 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. basil leaves
3 med. potatoes
4 sm. carrots
3 tbsp. flour
1 onion, chopped

Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, egg, minced onion, and bread crumbs. Mix all together and form into balls size of walnuts. Brown in hot oil. Remove meatballs from skillet, pour off grease except 3 tablespoons. Blend in flour and let it brown. Stir in remaining ingredients.

Bring mixture to a boil, simmer for 10 minutes, adding more water, if necessary. Add to meatballs in a 2-quart casserole dish and bake covered at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until vegetables are done.
