FRIED CORN BREAD 
1 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. self-rising flour

Milk or water is added until mixture is lumpy. Drop by level tablespoons into a little hot oil. Cook 2 minutes or until golden brown.

This is one of my favorites! I use buttermilk and fry in half canola oil half bacon drippings for more flavor. You can also use semi-fine chopped yellow onion to the mix and it goes great with pintos and fried fish!!
