APPLE COBBLER 
1/2 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1 can (21 oz.) apple pie filling
1/4 c. water

Soften butter slightly. Place in bowl and cream with sugar. Stir in flour and baking powder until blended. Stir in milk to make batter.

Grease 8x8x2 inch glass ovenproof dish. Spread batter evenly into dish.

Put water into saucepan, stir in pie filling and heat to boiling. Spread over top of batter. Bake at 350 degrees in preheated oven for about 45 minutes or until top is golden brown. Other pie fillings may be substituted, if preferred.
