LEMON BREAD 
1/3 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
Grated rind of 1 lemon
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Beat together shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk to sugar mixture, beating well.

Add lemon rind and nuts. Pour into one greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes.

GLAZE:

1/3 c. sugar
Juice of lemon or 2 tsp. real lemon juice

Pour glaze over bread immediately after removing from oven.
