DUTCH SPICE BREAD 
2 eggs
2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. oil
2 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. lemon flavoring
4 c. flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
3 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
Nuts (optional)
Raisins (optional)

Beat eggs. Add sugar and oil. Stir sour milk, baking soda and flavoring together and add to first mixture. Sift flour, spices, salt and add to first mixture. Add nuts and raisins if desired. Bake 1 hour. First 10 minutes at 400 degrees, then turn down to 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Makes 2 large loaves.

This recipe is outstanding. I did not realize I was out of lemon flavoring - but used part Butter Flavoring & part Black Walnut. This is excellent without icing - but think I will now complete it with Cream Cheese Frosting. Also did not pay attention to the fact that it was a 2 loaf recipe. Did half in loaf pan & rest in an 8x8 square. Next time - will just halve the recipe. This is, for sure - a keeper.
