EASTER BREAD
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 c. warm water
1/2 c. warm milk
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
3 1/2-4 c. flour
Colored sugar
3-5 colored "Easter Eggs" (not hard boiled)

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix milk, sugar and butter together to dissolve and melt. Mix yeast and milk mixture. Add egg and beat with a fork. Add flour 1 cup at a time. When mixture becomes too stiff to mix with a spoon, dump onto floured surface and knead. Continue to add flour and knead until dough is elastic not sticky.

Place in slightly greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap and cloth towel. Let rise. Punch down and rise again. Divide dough into 3 equal parts. Roll each piece into long rope approximately the diameter of a nickle.

Braid the ropes and form into circle and press ends together. Paint with egg wash and sprinkle with colored sugar and Easter eggs (at joint). Let rise slightly (approximately 15 minutes). Bake on cookie sheet (round pizza pan great) 40 minutes or until bottom is golden brown and sounds hollow when topped. Place on serving dish decorated with Easter grass and candy.
