FRUITY WHITE SANGRIA
1 orange, thinly sliced (add 2 if you like fruit)
1 apple cored and cut in eights (a second, if you like)
1 lemon, thinly slice
1 sliced lime (optional, I omit the lime)
1/2 cup sugar (I use use powdered, it dissolves quicker)
1 cup orange juice
1 cup apple juice
1 cup light rum (more or less as desired, brandy is also good)
2 bottles dry white wine, chilled (I use Big Sipper Chardonnay from Total Wine)
1 (8 oz.) bottle sparkling cider, chilled (I use Martinelli's from Dollar General, champagne would also work)

Place oranges, apples, and lemons in a large serving pitcher or jug. Add lime, if desired. Pour the sugar over the fruit. Add orange juice, apple juice and rum to the fruit mixture and mix gently. Let soak (10 minutes, 1 or 2 hours or overnight, depending on how much patience you have).

Pour in white wine, and right before serving, add the sparkling cider.

Makes about twelve (10 oz.) servings.
