PICKLED PEACHES 
4 qt. peaches
2 lb. sugar (prefer brown)
3 or 4 sticks cinnamon
Cloves
1 1/2 pt. vinegar

Make syrup with sugar, cinnamon and vinegar. Cook 20 minutes. Remove skin of peaches by dipping for a moment in boiling water, then rub with a cloth. Stick 2 cloves in each peach and cook in syrup until tender. Don't try to cook too many peaches at one time. boil the syrup 10 minutes after all the fruit is done. Then pour it over the peaches and seal.
