OLD-FASHIONED BAKED BEANS 
1 lb. dried navy beans
2 qt. water
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 lg. onions, thinly sliced
1/4 c. molasses
1 tsp. celery salt
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. ground pepper
4 slices bacon, cut in 1" pieces

Sort and wash beans. Place in large Dutch oven. Cover with water. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand 1 hour. Add salt to beans, bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer 1 hour. Drain, reserving 1 1/2 cups liquid. Set beans aside.
