MICROWAVE SHORTCUTS 
Nuts:

To toast nuts, spread in glass baking dish and microwave, uncovered, at high for 2 to 3 minutes, rotating dish every minute. For buttered nuts, melt butter in dish, toss nuts to coat, and proceed as above.

Honey:

If crystallized, remove lid and microwave honey in jar at high till crystals are dissolved.

Brown Sugar:

To soften Brown sugar, microwave in box, or covered glass casserole at medium till softened, 1 to 2 minutes.

Tomatoes:

To peel tomatoes, microwave at high for 15 seconds each; then rinse under cold water. Remove core and peels slip off.

Crisp Snacks:

If popcorn, potato chips or pretzels have lost crispness, microwave in glass or wood bowl at high just till (25 to 45 seconds) they feel warm to touch. Snacks become crisp as they cool.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
