APPLE SPICE BREAD | |
2 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cloves 1 c. oil 2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. raisins 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. cinnamon 2 c. sugar 4 eggs, beaten 4 c. apples, peeled and chopped 1 c. pecans, chopped Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine salt, soda, cloves and cinnamon. Set aside. Mix sugar, oil, eggs and vanilla. Stir in apples, raisins and pecans. Add flour mixture and mix well. Grease two loaf pans and line bottoms with waxed paper. Pour batter into pans. Bake 50 to 60 minutes; but, after 20 minutes of baking, remove from oven and sprinkle tops with sugar and pecans. Return to oven and finish baking. Cool in pans for 15 minutes, remove and cool on racks. |
