ASPARAGUS WILD RICE SALAD 
2 1/3 c. water
1 (6 oz.) pkg. long grain & wild rice
1/2 lb. asparagus cut in 1" pieces
1/4 c. vegetable oil
2 tbsp. wine vinegar
1 sm. red or green pepper
Red onion rings

Combine water and contents of rice and seasoning packets in saucepan. Bring to boil. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Add asparagus. Cover and simmer until liquid is absorbed (5 minutes). Cover and chill in bowl. Combine oil an vinegar. Stir into rice mix. Add pepper. Mix. Chill and garnish with red onion.
