M.'S FAVORITE CHICKEN SALAD 
1/2 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
1 can sliced and chopped water chestnuts (drained)
2 c. chopped cooked chicken breast
1 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped green bell pepper
1/2 c. chopped red onion
1 can LeSeuer green peas (drained)
Mayonnaise
Sugar
Grated Cheddar cheese
Bacon bits

In a deep bowl, layer items in order through the green peas. Spread mayonnaise over top of green peas, spreading mayo all the way to the sides of the bowl. Sprinkle with 2 to 3 tablespoons sugar. Cover with plastic wrap and leave in refrigerator overnight. Before serving, top with grated cheese and sprinkle with bacon bits.
