Mix as directed on package. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. While cake is baking. Take 1 can crushed pineapple, 1 cup brown sugar and bring to boil. Boil 5 minutes. Take cake out of oven. While still hot take handles of wooden spoon and poke holes in cake. Pour pineapple mixture (hot) over cake. Let cool completely. Mix 1 large instant vanilla pudding as directed and spread over cake. Let set a few minutes and spread Cool Whip over pudding and sprinkle with pecans if desired. Hint: Use large long baking dish. Keep refrigerated.
