APPLE DUMPLINGS 
2 c. sugar
4 c. water
1/3 c. butter
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Boil together first 4 ingredients for 3 minutes. Fill cavities of 12 apples with mixture. Dot with butter. Makes pastry for two crust. Roll out and cut into squares large enough to cover apple.

Place apple (pared and cored) into center of pastry square. Fill cavity with sugar and cinnamon mixture (about 1 tablespoon) in each apple and dot with butter. Bring corners of pastry up over apple and seal. Place a little apart in baking dish. Pour hot syrup around dumplings. Bake at 475 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
