GERMAN WILTED LETTUCE 
3/4 lb. leaf lettuce
2 green onions or 1 medium dry onion

Cut or break lettuce in small pieces and add salt and pepper to taste.

Dressing: Cut up in small pieces, 2 slices of bacon and fry until crisp. Add to chips and fat 1/2 cup cider vinegar and 1/2 cup sugar. Simmer in grease and pour hot over lettuce and serve immediately.
