BUTTERSCOTCH NUT SQUARES | |
1 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. sugar 3/4 c. butter, soft 2 tbsp. butter 1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips 1/2 c. white corn syrup 2 c. (12 oz. each) deluxe mixed nuts Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, salt and sugar. Mix in very soft butter. Press into 9 x 13 inch pan using waxed paper to smooth. Press firmly. Bake for 20 minutes until lightly golden brown. In microwave bowl, mix butter, chips and syrup. Heat until a full boil, then cook 1 minute. Spread nuts over cooked crust. Pour topping over nuts evenly. Cool completely and cut into small squares. Very rich. Keep refrigerated. Freezes well, also. |
