BACON WRAPPED SAUSAGE | |
1 (16 oz.) pkg. center cut bacon 1 (16 oz.) pkg. mild sausage links (or use bulk) soy sauce Worcestershire sauce brown sugar toothpicks Preheat oven to 350°F. Squeeze out the inside of the sausage links into a bowl. Throw away the sausage casings as these are not needed. Cut bacon in half so you have 2 even length pieces. Take a small amount of the sausage meat and roll the bacon around the sausage. Place the rolled bacon onto a casserole dish and continue until there is no bacon halves left. Sprinkle a healthy amount of brown sugar over the bacon wraps and then drizzle soy and Worcestershire sauce over all the wraps until you have a nice sauce for them to cook in. Note: Don't drown them in this sauce, just enough for them to cook in. Insert a wooden toothpick into each wrap and place in the preheated 350°F oven for about 45 minutes. When the bacon looks fully cooked take out and let stand about 15 minutes. Variations: You can substitute the sausage for another meat if you wish. I've also added water chestnuts.
