APPLESAUCE REFRIGERATOR CAKE 
1 1/3 c. Eagle Brand Sweetened condensed milk
1/2 c. plus 2 tsp. lemon juice
2 egg whites (at room temp.)
2 c. or (1 can) applesauce
Vanilla Wafers (about 45 to 60)
Whipped cream

Mix in large bowl milk and 1/2 c. of lemon juice until thickened. Whip egg whites until stiff in medium sized bowl. Fold into milk mixture. Combine 2 tbsp. lemon juice and applessauce. Line 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan with waxed paper, foil or philofilm wrap. Place layer of waffers in bottom of pan. Cover with one half milk mixture. Spread half the applesauce. Repeat. Top with waffers. Refrigerate 12 or more hours. Just before serving unmold on serving plate and peel off lining. Cut into 2 x 4 inch pieces. If like, garnish with whipped cream. Makes 9 servings.
