CHEESE APPLE CRISP | |
3 qt. apples, peeled and sliced 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1 1/2 c. water 4 1/2 tsp. lemon juice, if desired to retain color 3 c. sugar 2 c. flour 3/4 tsp. salt 1/2 lb. butter 3 c. cheese, shredded Grease pan, arrange apples. Sprinkle the cinnamon, add water, mixed with lemon juice. Combine sugar, flour, and salt. Work in the butter as a crumbly mixture, then take both hands and lightly mix or stir in the cheese, then spread all over the apples. Bake at 350 degrees until apples are tender and crust is light brown and crisp, about 30-40 minutes. |
