CHEESE BISCUITS AND GARLIC BUTTER | |
2 cups self-rising flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tbsp. sugar 1/3 cup crisco shortening 3/4 cup buttermilk 1 stick melted butter 2 cloves crushed garlic Preheat over to 350°F. Mix flour, baking powder, and sugar together. Using a fork; cut in shortening until it resembles cornmeal. Add cheese. Stir in buttermilk all at once. Stir just until blended. Do not over stir. Drop by tablespoons onto a self-greased baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes. (may us ice cream scoop to give biscuits a nicer shape. Combine butter and garlic over med heat until butter absorbs garlic. Brush over warm biscuits. (Store leftover for next baking.) For breakfast, brush with plain butter or honey butter.
